Katie and Nick were my "meet you at your wedding!" couple this year. Interestingly, my couple last year that I did not meet until the wedding day was also from the DC area, just like Katie and Nick!
Our initial meeting was over Skype (I love technology!) and we immediately hit it off! Katie and I had oddly similar personalities and I could tell she and I would get along perfectly! Fast-forward a few weeks and I get a panicked email from Katie - her venue essentially canceled! Of course, I immediately suggested Emerald Valley Resort...I may have mentioned before, it is my favorite venue! Perfect outdoor ceremony area, beautiful indoor reception area, wonderful facilities and food AND, it's where I got married :) She connected with Tiffany at the Event Center and the rest is history!
Katie and Nick's wedding day was beautifully classic. I loved Katie's timeless dress and the bold blue accents throughout the day. I also loved watching how loving Nick and Katie were together. Not surprisingly, I saw some parallels between Katie and Nick and my husband and me - Katie with her no nonsense, let's DO THIS personality complimented by Nick's sweet and endearing demeanor. This combination led to one of my favorite wedding moments this season...When Katie went all Kanye on Nick during the toasts...Nick was giving his toast, and Katie couldn't help but reach over and interject with the microphone..."I'mma let you finish, but..." Hahahahaha...oh man, I crack myself up!
