Every year, I am lucky enough to shoot at least one wedding at the amazing Emerald Valley Golf and Resort. Any of my devoted readers know that this building has a lot of history for me and it was the same place that my husband and I got married back in 2011. It has it all...gorgeous scenery, beautiful ceremony sight, stunning, indoor reception area. Easy parking, perfect amenities...I could go on, but what you really need to know for this blog post is that for 2017, I was given the amazing opportunity to shoot Ashlea and Brian's wedding there and I must say, it was one of the best yet!
First of all, Ashlea and Brian are laid-back, sweet, and hilarious people. The triple threat for lovability on my client scale. When I arrived at the venue with my wonderful assistant (Kandice Kelso of Green-Eyed Girl Productions dawned her super hero cape to help me out at this wedding due to a family emergency of my scheduled assistant), I was awe-struck but the beautiful, classic simplicity of the set-up. There were intricate details, combined with the perfect amount of trendiness and personality. From the bubble-gum pink (Kandice and I debated all day as to whether it was blush, dusty rose, cotton candy, etc) to the perfect navy and the dash of sequins (I mean, who can resist sequins?!) It was all tied perfectly together. When I first got to Ashlea, I told her "Wow! You've done an amazing job putting it all together!" She said, "It was all Brian - he was a wedding coordinator in a past life!" Brian had project block templates that he had literally downloaded from the Green-Eyed Girl's website! And...he won our hearts!
The day unfolded smoothly and I can't think of one hitch we had to deal with. Ashlea had her two daughters amongst her troop of gorgeous bridesmaids (and her mom!) and I just LOVED the getting ready pictures we got of the three generations. The entire day was filled with genuine love, laughter, and the perfect amount of very serious dance moves! Ashlea and Brian, thank you both so very much for having me as a part of your incredible wedding day! It was such a privilege to capture your memories! Here are "few" of my favorites.
