Every year, I am lucky enough to shoot at least one wedding at the amazing Emerald Valley Golf and Resort. Any of my devoted readers know that this building has a lot of history for me and it was the same place that my husband and I got married back in 2011. It has it all...gorgeous scenery, beautiful ceremony sight, stunning, indoor reception area. Easy parking, perfect amenities...I could go on, but what you really need to know for this blog post is that for 2017, I was giv
Kara and Sam were my very first 2017 wedding that I booked...way back in the spring of 2016. It is always so exciting to get that first date on the books for the upcoming year and this was no exception. I could tell that Kara had an amazing sense of planning and organization just by the questions she and her bridesmaid, Cherie, asked during the consultation! Kara had a gorgeous vision of a Victorian theme for her wedding and I loved how she chose the perfect venue to pull it
Chris and Katie's wedding took place on a surprisingly beautiful afternoon in Chehalis, Washington early last month. Chris is my husband's cousin and as soon as I learned that he was engaged, I secretly started refreshing my inbox every 10 minutes until I finally got a message from Chris' mom, Linda, asking if I might be available to shoot their wedding. I tried to play it cool and be professional about it (ha!) but, of course, I JUMPED at the chance to do a wedding for two v
Lindsay and Ryan were beautifully married on a Friday in late September. All week, the forecast called for rain but somehow, it held off and we ended up with a partly sunny, beautiful afternoon. I do not typically travel for weddings, but I was not going to say no to Lindsay... First of all, I have known Lindsay for almost 10 years. She and I have a lot of the same best friends and our circle of people definitely know how to throw a party. When she told me she was getting re
I met Courtney several years ago through her work at Hot Shots Coffee in Creswell. Not only can she make a mean latte, but I started to creep on her even more when she mentioned she was engaged (hello! She's gorgeous!) I met Matty for the first time after I had convinced Courtney to let me shoot her wedding. I could tell right away that I had come upon one of those unicorn couples that not only is in love with each other, but literally enjoys being around that other person so
Katie and Nick were my "meet you at your wedding!" couple this year. Interestingly, my couple last year that I did not meet until the wedding day was also from the DC area, just like Katie and Nick! Our initial meeting was over Skype (I love technology!) and we immediately hit it off! Katie and I had oddly similar personalities and I could tell she and I would get along perfectly! Fast-forward a few weeks and I get a panicked email from Katie - her venue essentially canceled!
Brittney and Jack were married on a virtually perfect Friday in June at the beautiful Lewis & Clark Catering Venue by the river. The wedding featured a gorgeous, almost-Christmas-like red and twinkle light feel and a very evident sweet love between Brittney and Jack. Something that was so impressive at this wedding was the dress - which Brittney's mother made from scratch! I also couldn't help but notice Brittney's lucky pennies taped into her beautiful wedding shoes. There
David and Lydeea kicked off my 2016 wedding season earlier this month at the Albany Golf and Event Center - my first time at the beautiful venue. When we first met last year, I fell in love with the little details they had already planned out for their wedding day. I particularly loved their color scheme and the timeless elements they were able to incorporate utilizing the indoor venue. It was obvious throughout the day how head over heels David and Lydeea are for each other.
Happy one month anniversary to a beautiful, loving, and easy-going couple, Brooke and Derik. I was so fortunate to be chosen by Brooke and Derik last year to shoot their beautiful wedding day at a gorgeous private residence overlooking Dorena Lake. Shooting out by the lake provided a little relief from my previous 90+degree weddings earlier in the summer, but it was still a brilliantly sunny afternoon. I absolutely LOVED how many little details Brooke & Derik incorporated int
I loved everything about this engagement session. We met at a new location I had never shot at before and I LOVED it; it was my first time trying a 9:30 am engagement shoot for morning lighting and it was perfect; and, Shannon showed up with teal accessories! Pretty much a session made in heaven. Not to mention that adorable Addie came along to smile her way through her parents' session. The pics and the people were beautiful. I can't wait to photograph their wedding in Octob
